| Frequently Asked Questions: 1. Who can use Timberline? The camp is primarily available to Smith Baptist Association groups and churches, other Baptist churches, and churches and groups that are theologically compatible with Timberline's purpose. Non-profit organizations, family reunions, and other groups may use the camp if calendar dates are available. 2. What do I need to bring? Flashlight, bug spray, comfortable clothes, jeans/tennis shoes (especially if participating in recreation), bedding and towels (if you are staying in one of our dorms), toiletries, Bible, Hair dryer Linens will no longer be provided in the Motels during the summer. 3. Do you have Internet access? We have limited wireless Internet access at our office. When you arrive at Timberline please ask us for the password if needed. 4. Do you furnish ice? You can purchase ice for $1.50 a bag or pay by the ice chest. 5. What is the minimum number of people that my group needs to bring to have a retreat? You will need to have a minimum of 25 people. You can bring less, but you have to pay for 25. 6. What time can my group check in/out? Typical check-in/out is at 2 p.m. We do work with your group if those times need to be adjusted. 7. Do you have accommodations for special needs? All of our dorms are handicap accessible. Please contact us if your group will need special accommodations for the motels. If you have special dietary restrictions we have a refrigerator that you can use or call us at 903-882-3183 to see how we can meet your needs. 8. Can I bring my pet? Please leave pets at home. 9. What is the cost to have a retreat? Please refer to our RATES page. 10. Are there other charges? Basic fees cover food and lodging. Some of our supervised recreation will have extra fees. Please refer to our RATES page for those fees. 11. What recreation do you offer? Please refer to our RECREATION page. We do offer free recreation which is on a first come first serve basis. We provide the equipment for the following: Volleyball, basketball, tether ball, dodge ball, hiking, ping pong, and horse shoes. You will need to bring your own equipment for the following: fishing (catch and release), and field sports (soccer, baseball, softball). 12. What kind of equipment do you provide in your meeting areas? Sound equipment (not provided if you are meeting in a dorm), microphones with stands, projector and screen, dry erase boards (please bring your own markers, and tv/dvd/vcr ($15 a day charge), and tables and chairs. |
